It always seems hard to get rid of the fat that gets accumulated in our lower abdominal area. The abdominal are made up of fairly small muscle group and training does not necessarily mean that the fat gets burned. Although leg extensions and leg curls have a better effect on burning the fat of the lower abdominal region, you can try some of these basic and safe exercises that will be quite useful for you to shed those extra pounds from your lower belly area.
The first basic exercise involves rotating your hip or the pelvis area towards your chest. You can lie on a mat or the floor keeping your hands parallel on the ground. Bring your knees towards your chest and then lower them down slowly. Make sure that you tap your toes on the floor and try to maintain a 45 degree angle as any further extension would mean that your lower abs are not getting a hit and even result in back ache.
The other exercise that you can try is raising your hip towards your sternum. Dig your fingers in the ground to get some leverage as your upper body might provide some resistance. Try it by crossing one knee over the other and repeating the same process. You could also try the modified leg lifts where you don’t have to tap your toes to the ground but keep them at a distance from the ground where your back does not get strained. You can do at least 15 repetitions in a set.
These are some basic exercises that you can try regardless of your current health and are a nice way to loose the fat from your lower abdominal area.
