Do you like coffee? Even if you don’t I think you definitely drink a couple cups of latte or cappuccino a week. Why, because they are tasty and popular. And there are a lot of people who can’t imagine their life without this drink and I hope the following facts will be very interesting for them:
- a so-called “coffee madness” reached Europe only in the 17th century but Pope Clement VIII declared it to be a “devil’s tool” and Christians weren’t allowed to drink it. The banned was cancelled only when he made the first sip of the drink and understood how delicious it is;
- Germany is a very interesting and unusual country. For example, in the 18th century they believed that drinking coffee could make a woman sterile but drinking bear can make her healthy;
- there is an ode to coffee that was written in 1732 by Johann Sebastian Bach. The words are the following: “Oh, coffee tastes so sweet, coffee is like a thousand of kisses, it’s even sweeter than Muscat!”
