Before actually starting explaining you all those tech specs and money deals, let me ask you a question: why do you want to buy an exercise bike? And what do you know about it? Traditionally, exercise bikes are usual stationary bikes, and you can use them either at home or in gyms.
There are different exercise bikes, I just would like to make you familiar with the most important and popular ones:
- Upright /regular exercise bikes are the best choice if you feel like exercising at home. These bikes are rather compact, very functional and low price;
- Recumbent exercise bikes. They are bikes that come with a seat in order you to be able to sit on the bike like in a chair. These bikes are much more expensive but they are very comfortable;
- Mini exercise bikes. They are highly portable and can be easily used as regular chairs.
As to me, the first variant is the best one for home use, because such bikes have everything to be your personal trainer.
Before buying a bike, always test it. Check for a smooth ride, comfort, convenience and general appearance. The overwhelming majority of new bikes comes with workout computers, where you are welcome to preset programs, measure heart rate, enjoy exercise monitoring and find everything you want to know about speed, energy usage and etc.
Some bikes come with built in games or mp3-players.
